Due to the fire, we have had outages in multiple areas throughout the okanogan valley. The fiber was compromised on both paths out of the county, this caused the internet outage. We also had no internet or phone service in our office yesterday for this reason, so getting this post up took some time, we apologize for that. The PUD was working on getting failed internet access points back up and online in Loomis/Palmer/Wannacut area. Which should be up and running now. They were also working on Edar access points, which should be working now as well. Minor internet Outages: If you are experiencing any minor downtime with your internet, it could be from Access points overheating this summer. They should only be down for 30 Minutes max. If you are experiencing any downtime longer than 30 minutes please contact us as soon as possible. New Internet Access Points Update: Currently the PUD is replacing all of our older systems with a new one that will help with the overwhelming amount of users we are getting now from this Covid issue we are facing. Thank you. Starting Friday morning (6/12) between 12:01 AM and 3:00AM, we will have downtime across our entire network, the reason for this downtime is an upgrade to our network. Upgrade information: These changes are some of the first steps in preparation for IPv6 across our network. This will allow for better routing through games, VPN, and Voip. The Public Utility District No. 1 of Okanogan County will be performing service affecting maintenance on the morning of Wednesday June 3rd, 2020 between the hours of 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM. The upgrade is expected to take 30 minutes to complete. A longer maintenance window is being called to deal with any unforeseen issues that may arise. This will affect the Access Point for about six hours. They will be taking the fiber down sometime in the morning and services will be fully restored before end of day. We will be taking color 140 down starting at 3:30 today April 1st, for less than 10 minutes to complete further scans in other frequencies to see if there is a more appropriate spectrum we should be operating in. To help optimize the wireless network in Omak Network Analysts will be taking the internet offline for about 90 seconds at 2:30pm today April 1st. This maintenance should take less than 5 minutes to complete and will affect all traffic that traverses the PUD’s BH radio link to McClure. A crew will be on stand by to assist if the need arises.

UPDATE** Harmony Heights has been placed on generator. Accident happened in between Tonasket and Oroville, took out internet/power to Pikins Mountain Internet Source. Techs are on their way to setup a generator now, services should come back online within a few hours. Sorry for the downtime.
The AP site south of Loomis off of Sinlahekin Rd has gone down. This appears to be a fiber issue. A tech is on their way to assess the situation.
**UPDATE** THE FIBER LINE WAS TORN BY A DUMP TRUCK, EXPECTED REPAIR DATE 12/17/2019. Technicians are performing quick maintenance on the fiber leading to the APs at Alta Lake. Expected down time is about 30 minutes.

Maintenance will begin Thursday night, November 14, 2019 at 2300 with the expectation that traffic will be restored by 0400, November 15th, and the maintenance window concluding by 0500.
During the maintenance time period all distribution Ethernet services fed from the node will be affected for potentially the entire outage window as splicing occurs and equipment is upgraded. Location of Work: Omak, WA (48.4056, -119.5185) Date of Work: November 14-15, 2019 Time of Work: 2300-0500 Est. Outage Duration: Five hour outage, six hour total window Severity: Service Affecting to distribution Scope of Work: Equipment upgrades and maintenance The Public Utility District No. 1 of Okanogan County will be performing service affecting maintenance on our Tonasket US Bank Node. Maintenance will begin Thursday morning, September 19, 2019 at 0100 with the expectation that critical traffic will be restored by 0500. They might continue work on Friday morning, September 20, 2019 at 0100 if work was not completed during the previous night.
During the maintenance time period the majority of Ethernet services to the north of the node will be affected for potentially the entire outage window as splicing occurs. Barring any unforeseen issues, we will be offering 20Mbps service packages to our mountain top systems starting 09/09/2019!
Currently our mountain top systems are only able to go up to the 12Mbps package. If you are unsure if you are going off our mountain top system, or if you would like to upgrade to the 20Mbps service you can give us a call, text, or email. Emergency Maintenance 7/26/19 | 4AM - 5AM The Public Utility District no. 1 of Okanogan County is calling an emergency maintenance window for the early morning of Friday, July 26, 2019 (TOMORROW MORNING) between the hours of 4 AM and 5 AM to address an issue that has been identified on our 10G link between backbone nodes in Okanogan, WA, and Mallott, WA.
This window is being called investigate the issue and take corrective action if necessary. As this backbone link between Okanogan and Mallott is opened at 4 AM and again when it is closed once the maintenance is concluded, services traversing the OKPUD backbone may experience temporary packet loss while traffic on our ringed backbone reconverges. Over the next several days, the PUD will be updating the Access Points, and the Subscriber Modules (What we attached to the side of your house) This will cause service interruptions as they make the changes. The downtime should be a maximum of 30 min, if you are experiencing longer downtime please contact us right away for support.
Thank you all! The PUD is launching a Campaign to determine where they should expand the Fiber network. You can now express interest to the PUD letting them know if you want fiber. By doing this it will let the PUD know if there is enough demand to expand the Fiber network in certain areas. So however many people fill out the interest form in your area will increase the chances of the PUD expanding Fiber in that area. Even if you cannot afford the Fiber right now, there is a good chance in the years to come that it will become much more affordable to have Fiber installed at your home. The closer the Fiber the cheaper the install. You can check for Fiber service in your area by visiting this LINK. If you already know there is Fiber near you, you can express your interest in Fiber by using this LINK.
